Most padel in Bangkok is played in one-off sessions: an Americano on Tuesday, a booked court on Saturday. The Pad Thai Padel Championship is different. It is an amateur league played over a full season at Pad Thai Padel Rama 4, with teams of two placed in divisions by level, a fixed calendar of match days and a table that decides who lifts the trophy.
The league runs on The Padel Society app and has completed three seasons since its launch in June 2025. Season 4 starts on 20 September 2026 and registration closes on 9 September. This guide covers how the Championship has grown, exactly how Season 4 works and how to get your team ready.
Seasons 1 to 3: from launch to a six-division league
The first season ran from June to August 2025, split into four men's divisions and two women's divisions. Matches were played on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Season 2 followed from October to December 2025, and Season 3 ran from March to May 2026 with a bigger field and, for the first time, a mixed competition alongside the men's and women's divisions.
The format settled quickly. Matches are best of three sets with a silver point at deuce and a standard tiebreak, and since Season 2 the third set has been a super tiebreak to 10 points. Every match is played in a strict 90-minute slot. If time runs out, a golden point is played and the team leading on sets and games wins. Points in the table follow a simple rule: a 2-0 win earns 3 points, a 2-1 win earns 2 points with 1 point for the loser, and a no-show or forfeit counts as a 3-0 defeat.
What the club and its players took from three seasons
In June 2026 the club summed up the league in its own words: "Already three seasons in, a two-month competition has become an opportunity to improve, challenge ourselves, and connect". The team counts tell the same story, growing season on season as players came back with the same partner or found a new one.
The organisers also published what they learned after Season 1. Some players did not fully understand the rules and format, last-minute reschedules caused frustration, and there was a lack of clarity about prizes. Season 2 and Season 3 answered those points with written division rules, a players' handbook and fixed match days, so that a team knows from the first week when it plays and what a win is worth.
Season 4: format, divisions and dates
Season 4 returns in September for 10 weeks of competition. These are the details as announced by the club on 20 August 2026.
- Divisions: 4 men's divisions, Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold, and 2 women's divisions, Bronze and Silver.
- Match days: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Match length: 90-minute matches.
- Guarantee: 7 matches guaranteed for every team.
- Dates: starts 20 September 2026, finals on 29 November 2026.
- Entry fee: THB 7,500 paid in full, THB 8,000 split in two, or THB 7,000 for Pad Thai Padel Academy players.
- Registration: via the link in the club's Instagram bio, before 9 September.
Teams are pairs of two players who stay together for the season. Returning teams keep the division they earned in the previous season. New teams are placed by level.
Dunlop, the Championship ball
The league plays with Dunlop balls. As the club puts it, "Pad Thai Padel Championship plays Dunlop". A single ball across every division means the bounce and the pace off the glass are the same in a Wednesday Iron match as in the Gold final, and teams can practise with the ball they will compete with.
How divisions map to your level
The Season 4 division names mirror the level bands used across The Padel Society app, which is the same scale the club's coaches use for placement. The bands run as follows.
- Iron: 1.0 to 1.79. New to competition, able to rally and play basic points.
- Bronze: 1.8 to 2.49. Consistent from the back of the court, starting to use the walls on purpose.
- Silver: 2.5 to 3.49. Solid net play, tactical use of lobs and walls, comfortable in long rallies.
- Gold: 3.5 to 4.49. Advanced, competitive players with a full range of shots.
Your level in the app updates as you play events, and a Certified Level Assessment with a coach, listed on the events page, confirms it before the season. If you and your partner are in different bands, the organisers place the team where the matches will be fairest.
Preparing for the season with the academy
Ten weeks with a guaranteed seven matches is the best reason to train with a purpose. The Pad Thai Padel Academy in Bangkok is led by head coach Jose Mouliaa, a former professional who reached number 69 on Premier Padel, alongside APPT Grand Slam winner Eli Estrada.
The academy's monthly Growth and Performance plans both include tournament support alongside group sessions, individual lessons and video analysis, and academy players pay the reduced THB 7,000 entry fee. For a lighter option, a Guided Americano with a coach gives you match play with feedback between rounds. Playing weekly events with your partner before September also sharpens the pair, and the open matches board is a quick way to find practice opponents at your level.
The Championship has grown from a single-weekend idea into a six-division league with fixed match days, a handbook and a ball partner, and Season 4 runs for 10 weeks on fixed match days. Register before 9 September, book a level assessment if you need one, and we will see you on court from 20 September. For more on how events work at the club, browse our guides.
