Alo x Pad Thai Padel: yoga on the padel court

Alo and Pad Thai Padel took yoga onto the court at Rama 4, Bangkok. What the session looked like, why padel and yoga pair, and how to join the next one.

Updated 2 September 2026

Padel is a game of rotation, low lunges and quick changes of direction. Yoga is a practice of breath, balance and range of motion. Put the two on the same court and you get a session that makes sense of both, which is exactly what Alo and Pad Thai Padel did at the Bangkok club on Rama 4.

This guide covers what the on-court yoga sessions with Alo looked like, why padel and yoga pair so naturally, how wellness fits into an ordinary week at the club, and how to hear about the next session before the mats run out.

What happened on court

The session was filmed and covered by #legendLeisure under the title "Alo x Pad Thai Padel". The footage shows the court set up in a way most padel players have never seen it: mats laid out across the surface, an instructor at the front, and a group class moving through a flow together inside the glass. The Alo branding is on the mats and the kit, but the setting is unmistakably a padel court, net and all.

The session was a full class on court rather than a warm-up bolted onto a match, and it showed how naturally the two fit: the ranges of motion yoga trains are the ones padel spends.

Why padel and yoga belong together

Padel is easy to start and hard to put down, and that is where the case for yoga begins. The sport asks a lot of a few specific ranges of motion. You rotate through the trunk on every drive, you drop into a low lunge to take the ball off the back glass, and you reach overhead again and again on the volley and the smash. Yoga trains those same ranges slowly and under control.

  • Mobility. Hip openers, spinal twists and shoulder work translate directly into a fuller swing and a lower, more stable stance at the net.
  • Recovery. Longer holds and slower breathing bring the body down after a match, which is why the club pairs yoga with its other recovery options rather than treating it as a separate activity.
  • Balance and footwork. Single-leg poses build the ankle and hip stability that padel's short, sharp steps demand.

Because padel is played in doubles, four players to a court, it is also a social sport. A group yoga class on the same court carries that feeling over: you arrive with your regular partners and leave with a few new ones.

Alo, the brand on the mats

Alo Yoga was founded in 2007 in Los Angeles by Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge and is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. The name is an acronym for air, land and ocean. The brand makes activewear and has expanded into skincare, footwear and other categories, but yoga apparel remains its core.

At Pad Thai Padel, Alo sits among the lifestyle partners whose logos appear on the club site alongside names such as Innisfree and Garmin. The club describes itself as a premium padel and lifestyle hub built on three pillars, Academy, Wellness and Community, and Alo belongs squarely to the second of those. For a fuller list of who the club plays with, see the guides section.

Wellness at Pad Thai Padel Rama 4

Yoga on court is not a one-off idea dropped into a padel club. Pad Thai Padel Rama 4 was built with wellness in the plan from the start. The club offers outdoor yoga classes, ice baths and a recovery space, alongside three courts (two indoor, one outdoor) that are open from 08:00 to 23:00 daily.

The recovery space is woven into the academy plans too. The Essential plan includes recovery space access four times a month, while the Growth and Performance plans include unlimited access, and the Starter and Pro credit packs include unlimited access for as long as the pack is valid. The idea is simple: train hard in group sessions and individual lessons, then have somewhere to put the body back together.

The café follows the same logic, with fresh salads, pressed sandwiches and juices for after a session, and craft beers and natural wines for the evenings when the recovery is more social than physical.

How to hear about the next session

Yoga on court now appears in the club's weekly event feed on The Padel Society, in the same list as the Americanos, Mexicanos and King of the Khlong sessions. The quickest way to catch the next one is to check the events page, which pulls from that feed, or to open The Padel Society app and look at what is coming up at Pad Thai Padel.

Partner sessions like the Alo collaboration are usually announced on Instagram first, so following @padthaipadel is the other half of the answer. When a session is listed, join it the same way you would join an Americano: pick the slot, confirm, and turn up in something you can move in. If you plan to stay on for padel afterwards, bring non-marking court shoes; rackets and balls can be provided at the club.

The Alo session showed what a padel club can be when it takes the lifestyle part of its name seriously: a place where the court is used for movement of every kind, and where the game that follows is better for it. If you have never tried yoga, a class on a padel court in Bangkok is a friendly place to start, and if you have never tried padel, the reverse is just as true.
